EXPERIENCE DESIGNER – UX | CX | SERVICE
I am a human-centred designer with 11 years previous experience within marketing, business and creative strategy, and a further 6 within education. I am particularly interested in the dynamics between customer expectation and organisational constraint, interactional behaviours, technology and exploring the intersection between design-thinking, human-centred design, services and social change.
Highly adept at working within cross-functional collaborative environments within multi-disciplinary organisations, I have overseen the planning and development of multiple projects across a diverse range of departments and sectors. I am a confident and concise communicator who innately understands the value of building relationships, user-centred research and creating impactful solutions.
I hold a solid comprehension of human interaction with the built form having worked 11 years within architecture, interiors, urban design, and construction. I also possess extensive experience in creating visual and textual journeys through multiple channels and multi-million dollar work-winning projects.
My past educational and work pursuits have encompassed qualitative and quantitative research, psychology, visual communication, cultural understanding, facilitation, storytelling and multi-sensory narrative.
My goal: to change the world for the better even if it is only one iteration at a time!

MY PAST EXPERIENCE AND HOW IT TRANSLATES INTO EXPERIENCE DESIGN
Facilitation is something I am well-versed in. I am a trained visual arts teacher who spent 6 years teaching ESL in Japan. I also hold a degree in theatre, which combines a lot of group activity with co-creation.
Research is something I love and is at the core of finding the answers to a problem. Through theatre I have created personas/characters, engaged the senses and storytold, through marketing and my Masters analysed and compared qualitative and quantitative data, and through art developed ways to ideate and think creatively.
I have over 11 years experience in Marketing and Communications. I have a strong understanding of all the touch-points consumers or clients encounter, as well as understanding the 5 E’s of their experience. Oh…and did I mention I have also worked in retail.
Trained in visual communication, graphics, web design and visual arts, I have used Adobe Creative Suite every day for the last 11 years. I also utilise Sketch, InVision and Axure. I have a strong eye for detail with a minimalist approach. I stand by the axiom K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Stupid!
With my time in marketing, working closely with strategy and business I have gained a strong understanding that everything goes so much deeper than the surface. Understanding the individual as well as the collective, the systems and processes behind the scenes is an important step to improving the way we engage with our users.
